But finding wire wheels for your 2002-2005 Thunderbird is a challenge. The first wire wheel offered for the 2002-2005 Thunderbird was made by Dayton Wheel Company. Their 72 and 80-spoke design, introduced in 2003, gave the new Thunderbird a classic look reminiscent of the 1955-57 T-Birds, and later the 1962-63 Thunderbird Sports Roadsters. Some 1962-63 Thunderbird Sports Roadsters featured the now-famous ‘Kelsey-Hayes’ wire wheel, a beautiful twisted-spoke design with ‘spinner’ center caps.
In 2005, a new wire-spoke wheel for the new Thunderbird was introduced by Roadster Wheel company. This wheel featured the twisted-spoke design similar to the Kelsey-Hayes wheel, and offered distinctive color-coordinated ‘spinner’ center caps. Unfortunately, the Roadster Wire Wheel was plagued with quality issues and were very difficult to balance. Despite their striking appearance, only the the most intrepid 2002-2005 Thunderbird owners were willing to deal with the challenge of keeping them balanced and full of air. Roadster Wheel was purchased by Coker Tire several years ago, but Coker discontinued the wire wheel for the 2002-2005 Thunderbird.
Discontinuation of the Dayton wire and the Roadster wire wheel left Thunderbird owners with no source for a reliable wire wheel for their 2002-2005 Thunderbirds.

This beautiful wheel is American made, hand-assembled, and features a brilliant chrome-plated finish, along with the classic ‘spinner’ center caps available in both ‘2-ear,’ and ‘3-ear’ styles.
