The Chrome-Plated Hood Scoop Bezel was offered by Ford only on the 2002 ‘Neiman-Marcus’ Special Edition, and the 2005 ‘Cashmere’ Feature car. But other Thunderbird owners loved the look of the Chrome-Plated Hood Scoop Bezel and soon all of the OEM Chrome Bezels were bought by Retro owners, and have been unavailable for several years.
In an attempt to recapture the stunning look of the original Ford part, aftermarket manufacturers produced a flat, stainless steel ‘stick on’ accessory to mimic the appearance of the original. But that part fell short of the mark, and many Thunderbird owners who purchased it were disappointed with the look. To make matters worse, the corners of the aftermarket stainless steel piece were notorious for ‘popping up’ at the edges, making the look even less attractive.
