Your Thunderbird’s Hardtop is probably the single most valuable accessory for your car. New hardtops from Ford have been unavailable for over 10 years, and used hardtops can cost as much as $ 1,500 or more, not including crating and shipping which can exceed the cost of the top itself!
We’re pleased to offer a new Thunderbird Hardtop Dust Cover designed for use while the factory hardtop is stored and not in use. Whether you store yours in the original factory cart or just lean it against the wall, it’s easily scratched or dented when not in use. The original Ford OEM hardtop cover was made of flimsy, poor-quality material, that was prone to rips and tears. Over time, the material in these original covers literally ‘fell apart’ from years of use, exposure to extreme temperatures, moisture and dirt, dust and other contaminants.
Our new Hardtop Covers are custom-made and fabricated from a super-soft yet durable high-quality material that will last as long as your prized Thunderbird! In fact, our covers use similar material used to make full car covers for high-end exotic collectible cars like Rolls Royce, Aston Martin, Ferrari and Lamborghini! It will pamper your Thunderbird’s hardtop, while protecting it from dust, dirt and scratches, and is guaranteed not to scratch the delicate clear-coated paint surface.
Created using the exact pattern of the original Ford cover, ours features double-stitched seams and an open bottom for proper air circulation and to prevent moisture build-up. You’ll see and feel the different in our new cover the minute you touch it. Our new covers are custom made to order exclusively for us by a small Specialty Soft Goods shop.
