Thunderbird Locking Gas Cap – 2002-2005 – Protect your fuel from theft and tampering with our new locking gas cap. Ford should have offered a locking gas cap on all 2002-2005 Thunderbirds but didn’t. Our cap replaces the original OEM cap perfectly and opens with 1/4 turn of the key. Proper installation of the fuel cap is aided through its Torque Override feature which produces an audible click when the o-ring seal is properly sealed. Its Lost Motion and Breakaway groove features allocate the cap handle to turn while remaining sealed, hindering fuel tank leakage during an impact or sudden crash. Includes two keys.
