2002-2005 Thunderbird FEM/Front Electronic Module Available Now!- This is a genuine Ford part- FEM (Front Electronic Module) also known as the ‘Lighting Control Module’ manufactured by Ford Motor Company, and is the correct replacement for the OEM Ford part as supplied on all 2002-2005 Ford Thunderbirds. This part was discontinued and ‘obsoleted’ by Ford several years ago and is no longer serviced by, or available from Ford dealers. This module, located behind the ‘kick panel’ in the footwell, controls a number of different electronic functions in the 2002-2005 Thunderbird. Typical symptoms of a defective unit include problems with interior lights, door locks, and headlights and SPLs (Supplemental Parking Lights). Faulty electronic modules are one of the most common repair issues for the 2002-2005 Thunderbird.

This is a strictly-limited program and sales are subject to the following requirements:
- Customer must provide either their existing FEM, also know as the ‘core,’ or pay a core charge deposit of $ 1,499, $ 1,200 of which is refundable provided customer’s old FEM core is returned within 15 business days of receipt of the replacement FEM. NO ORDERS WILL BE PROCESSED WITHOUT EITHER AN ORIGINAL FORD FEM OR PAYMENT OF THE $ 1,499 CORE DEPOSIT. NO EXCEPTIONS!
- Customer must provide the following data with their order:
- VIN (Vehicle Identification Number)
- Part Number
- Engineering Number (the part and engineering numbers are located on the white bar code label attached to the module.
- Current odometer (mileage) reading from customer’s Thunderbird
- The above information can be entered in the ‘Order Notes’ section of the ‘Checkout’ page
If you are NOT supplying your original FEM ‘core,’ click on the following link to pay the core charge deposit:
- To qualify for a core charge refund you must return your original core to us within 15 calendar days of receipt of your new FEM. Your old FEM core MUST be returned in the ORIGINAL FORD PACKAGING, with the bar code label on the packaging visible and readable!
- Once placed this order can NOT be cancelled and is NON-REFUNDABLE! Cores NOT returned within the 15-day timeframe are NOT eligible for a core charge refund.
- Please note: This module will require re-programming by a Ford or Lincoln dealer or other qualified automotive repair facility. Programming fees and charges are NOT included in the purchase of the FEM.
PLEASE NOTE: Price of this part, $ 1,895, is for the FEM/Front Electronic Module replacement ONLY and does NOT include ANY Core Charge deposit whatsoever. No portion of this purchase is refundable. The Core Charge Deposit of $ 1,449, if posted, is a SEPARATE transaction and is NOT included in the purchase price of the FEM itself. $ 1,200 of this core charge IS refundable. The balance of $ 299 is a processing/administrative and handling fee and is NOT refundable
This is a limited time program offered by Ford Motor Company and may be discontinued at any time without prior notice. This part is covered by a Ford parts warranty for a period of one year from date of installation, however, Ford Motor Company reserves the right to use previously manufactured cores to fill orders under this program.
